Queen of Galapagos cruise report (April 2009)   Leave a comment

Hi Robin, We wanted to send you a quick thank-you for contributing to one of the most amazing trips we have ever made. We appreciate the time you took to answer every question we had about Ecuador, the Galapagos and the Queen of Galapagos. Thanks to your dedication, we had a wonderful time when we visited last November. The Queen of Galapagos was a great recommendation. We loved the catamaran and our cabin with huge windows. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English fluently. The crew did not speak English but was very nice. We never felt like we were just another boatload of tourists. Every need was anticipated and the service was excellent. It is a good thing that most excursions involved some walking or snorkeling, as we fully enjoyed the three delicious buffets each day. We certainly don’t need to tell you about the beauty of the Galapagos. We saw so many different animals and landscapes that we ended up with a few thousand digital pictures. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but how can you not take another picture of yet another cute sea lion pup?

We would like to make a few recommendations to people who visit the Galapagos:

ask Robin all your questions up-front, so that you are well prepared – once on the islands, there is very limited opportunity to purchase anything (e.g. shampoo, sunscreen, sunhat, memory cards or batteries for the camera, power adaptor)

take a full wetsuit if you go during the colder months and want to enjoy the water and swim with sea lions

don’t forget the motion sickness medication if there is a chance you may get seasick (the waters were rather rough at times)

Keep up the great work! Els and Mike from Los Angeles, U.S.A.
